This guide for overseas users to official statistics on Japan provides a variety of information, including responsible agencies, purposes, contents, reference dates, survey periods, survey frequencies, survey methods, tabulation items, publication methods, languages, related statistics, sales agencies, and related Internet sites. It contains comprehensive statistics, such as the "Japan Statistical Yearbook, " and summarized statistics in various fields, as well as primary statistical data.An index of publications and producing agencies is included at the end of this guide. The first edition was issued in 1999, and after the reorganization of the government ministries, it was revised in 2001.

This directory introduces organizations and publications which provide useful information on the Japanese economy, corporations, markets, science and technology, patents, legal precedents, government administration, etc. As it focuses on electronic information sources, such as Internet sites and online databases, it includes a large number of related URLs .It is characterized by inclusion of lists of exhibitions, business seminars and libraries in Japan, as well as labor and employment information.The first edition was published in 1995.

This Website provides access to the results of major censuses conducted by the Statistics Bureau, Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, including the Population Census and the Establishment and Enterprise Census, as well as data from such comprehensive statistics as "Japan Statistical Yearbook" and "Monthly Statistics of Japan". These data can be obtained in Excel format. As far as comprehensive statistics are concerned, however, only the latest data are shown with any previous data deleted.The site contains many other pieces of useful information: "Statistical System in Japan" provides access to various data that will help you to gain a comprehensive understanding of the overall statistical system in Japan, "FAQ" which provides answers to questions (how to find certain data, how to use them, etc.) frequently asked of the Statistics Bureau, and others.

This Website introduces statistics on the machinery industry in Japan. First of all, statistics about machinery are available, source of which is the Ministry of Economy Trade and Industry. Month by month production and sales figures for 81 items can be found here. In addition, statistics on machinery orders are available. The source of these statistics is the same as "Monthly machinery statistics". Because the names of categories are shown on the main page, the original statistics can be found more easily than on the Website of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry. In addition, some kinds of monthly semiconductor equipment productive statistics are available. The source of these statistics is the Semiconductor Equipment Association of Japan.
