出版の背景・目的

シンガポールのシンクタンク、ISEASユソフ・イシャク研究所（旧・東南アジア研究所（ISEAS））が1974年から出版している東南アジア地域に関する年報。東南アジア地域の政治・経済・社会状況等について、分かりやすい分析を提供することを目的としている[1]。

本書のポイント

東南アジア地域の動向把握の参考になる年報である。

当館では、本誌を初版（1974年版）から継続して所蔵しており[2]、過去の特定時期についての調査にも有用である。特に、情報を得にくい時期・国について調査する際には、基本資料の一つになると思われる。

所蔵最新の2021年版は、2020年の動向を扱っており、コロナ禍の情勢に注目した分析等が掲載されている。例えばラオスを取り上げた章では、同国におけるコロナ禍の社会・経済に対する影響や、鉄道網の拡充、水力発電の推進といった主要政策及びその課題の分析等、同国の動向について様々な情報を得ることができる。

なお、本誌の各年版の目次情報は、JSTORウェブサイト(https://www.jstor.org/journal/soutasiaaffa)で閲覧可能である。また当館内では、1998年版以降の本文を契約データベースProQuest CentralやEBSCOhostを通じて閲覧することができる。
