主な内容
日本及び日本占領地域への米軍による空襲に関する公刊・未公刊記録、並びに日本の軍事、経済、政治、社会、文化に関する記録。調査団記録のほか、陸・海軍省、司法省・国務省、対外経済庁、国防研究委員会（National Defense Research Committee）、議会図書館、英国空軍省、日本政府等の情報もある。
主要なものは以下の通り。
  • Civil affairs handbooks（民政ハンドブック）65巻： 陸軍省・陸軍補給軍（Army Service Forces）・海軍作戦部長室（Office of the Chief of Naval Operations）発行
  • 1945年8月から10月にかけての軍事、経済、社会に関する占領軍による照会事項に対する日本政府の回答。
  • 司法省経済戦局（Economic Warfare Section, Department of Justice）：主な日本の貿易会社の記録や、日本在住経験者、日本企業と商取引をしたことがある者へのインタビューから得た、日本の産業に関する情報のメモ・報告書。
  • 合同攻撃目標グループ（Joint Target Group, JTG）：空襲前・後の攻撃目標についての研究調査書。
  • 戦略諜報局研究分析部（Research and Analysis Branch, Office of Strategic 　Services）：東京や関連支局から送信される短波ラジオの傍受調査書。日本本土及び東アジアの経済、政治、軍事、社会状況に関する情報を含む。
  • 太平洋地域統合情報局（Joint Intelligence Center, Pacific Ocean Area）：鹵獲した日本側文書に基づいて作成された日本の軍事作戦、太平洋地域の防衛、連合軍の攻撃に対する日本側の弱点についての定期的報告。
  • Twentieth Air Force Combat Operations Journal （第20航空軍戦闘作戦日誌）
  • 陸軍省参謀本部陸軍情報部（Military Intelligence Division, War Department General Staff：MIDWDGS）：日本の地上軍・航空戦力、装備についての情報。
